The Footpath of Least Resistance

A pathway can reveal clarity or confusing. What is the deciding element during the journey? You, because you are the way. The “Way” is not the path itself. Nor, is it you as the person. Instead, it is how you travel this trail. The way is permanence. And, you take one step and then the next. But, will each step be unconsciously or consciously taken?  A footpath commonly indicates a simpler means of travel. Then why does the way often seem so complex? Remember, you are the way. Therefore, you cause the complications. The path is simply a path.

Thus, the footpath is helpful during conscious awakening. Whereas, the way is unavoidable. However, it can be a transition that will change everything. This depends on how you experience it. Laozi (Lao Tzu) shared profound wisdom in his insight about The Way. His teachings offer us the experience of simplicity as we travel on the path. He does not share details about what we encounter. But, he does suggest living consciously along the way. Continue reading

Spider Web and Dangling Thoughts

When does something become a routine?  When does this routine become conditioned behavior? Daily activities tend to become routines. This is unavoidable. But, then again almost anything can become a pattern of repetition. This could be things that we physically and mentally do. A clearer understanding of the latter is significant for awakening to consciousness. The mind becomes a spider web. And unconscious behavior patterns have entangled us. Still, a routine or conditioned behavior can really only be detrimental if we remain unconscious.

Yes, on the flip side, it is beneficial to be aware of a conditioned behavior. But, your relationship with the mind decides how you will live. Moreover, your awareness to this relationship is primary. Thus, what you think or do is secondary. Do you consciously or unconsciously do or think something? “Living oblivious to living is still typical for most people.” Please pause and reflect on the previous sentence. There is a sign post there beyond the words. Operant conditioning is the basis for the interaction with ourselves, the world, universe, and life. Operant (also known as instrumental conditioning) is similar to classical conditioning. Both restrict conscious awareness during our experiences. Continue reading

Leaf in the Wind: Gliding with Life

Have you ever watched a leaf gliding through the air? The changing of the seasons, especially autumn is experienced in many parts of the world. Leaves, for example, will fall from the trees during the transition from autumn to winter. Furthermore, there will be leaves to rake and this is when many people are especially vulnerable to specific mind games. A few of which are “Why must summer be over?” or “Why do the neighbors tree leaves fly onto my lawn?” etc. The conditioned mind is especially active.

Nevertheless, we have a deep innate bond with nature. However, this relationship is put to the test, especially during this time of year. This is because one leaf after the other is flying through the air. Therefore, as a result, people start to complain. It is as if nature is suddenly our worst enemy. The mind does not what to accept the change in season. It generally has problems with any change that occurs. Continue reading

Unconditional Love Needs no Reasons

What happens to pure love after you have fallen in love? This was what we discussed at the end of the previous article “Count the Reasons Why”. You meet someone and boom. Love sudden transcends all other experiences. This next sentence may frustrate the mind. “Unconditional love can always transcend everything.” Furthermore, the potential for love to flourish is always constant. However, it depends on you.

unconditional

Yes, I am suggesting that unconditional love is a natural state of being. It is there to experience when we are willing to focus and allow. However, what usually happens after two people has fallen in love? A person’s love awareness typically can last between one day and several months. Therefore, a moment may come when you will ask yourself why you feel love for this person. Furthermore, the mind will demand that you count the reasons. Additionally, and more often than not, a partner will ask you to explain why you love him or her. Continue reading

Count the Reasons Why

Have you ever been in love? This may seem peculiar to ask. However, it is not an abstract question. Furthermore, it also has philosophical potential. However, our discussion will be based on practical applications of what we call love. Let’s look at this excerpt from the poem written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”

count

You have falling in love. Do you recall asking yourself, your partner or anyone else why you fell in love? No, probably not. Initially it was enough to simply be in love. You met someone and the sky-rockets started to explode. You felt yourself intertwining with this person. This allowed two to become one. You realized what it means to love unconditionally. You did not need to count the reasons why you loved. It was beautiful just to love. Continue reading

Live Now and You Will Live Forever

Now is the key to consciousness. We have heard it before. It is likely that we will hear it again. Furthermore, it is the portal to balance and harmony. Therefore, your relationship with this moment determines how you will experience the next. Are you interacting with the mind or existing on autopilot? Likewise, you can ask yourself an additional question. How do I wish to live? This is of paramount importance to the awakening of consciousness.

live

This question sounds philosophical. However, we can use this as a practice application for any situation. Moreover, it can simplify everything in daily activities. Eckhart Tolle had said something during a spiritual retreat that applies to our discussion. I wish to paraphrase him. “Focus your energy on now. This will allow everything to take care of itself. You can live for now and live forever.” Continue reading

Searching for Purpose

We are constantly searching for a purpose. The mind thinks that there is a reason for everything. These thoughts have become conditioned reactions. The collective belief is that there can be nothing without a reason. Furthermore, we sadly occupy each moment with the demanding need to have a function. We base the structures of our entire existence and the universe on this very assumption. This necessitated the establishment of mathematics, science and religion. However, the minds attempts to explain the unexplainable have proven faulty.

searching

We become entrapped in the confines of these limitations. Therefore, this behavior pattern remains active in the background of our experiences. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to conclude that we have practical “purposes” in our daily activities. There are numerous experiences that fit into this category. However, there is also the search for a grand purpose. Most people would say there is a grand purpose in my life. There is no grand reason for life. Therefore, to assume that our existence is based on grandeur is purely subjective. Continue reading

Automatic Random Output

The title “Automatic Random Output” suggests that we are going to discuss computer calculations. However, it is a reference to conditioned mind behavior. The title is a proper description of our mind activities. A person usually accepts conditioned mind behavior as normal; even necessary. Furthermore, we interact with the flow of mind output similarly to the behavior of a laboratory mouse.

Thoughts and feelings programmed through conditioned behavior are similar to a carrot placed in front of a donkey to get it to move forward. Furthermore, the mind is able to keep us distracted with this old worn-out information. Object consciousness; when unaware, will attach itself to a random mind / thought or emotion. We often remain in this unaware state of being for most of our existence. The mind continues to generate and regenerate thoughts and emotions. This behavior is automatic because it is a conditioned reaction. Continue reading

Dominoes: That’s the Way They Fall

There are different variations of the game Dominoes. It originated during the Song Dynasty in China. This game, however, is not the topic of this article. We can compare this to our behavior in areas of consciousness and life energy. The mind is said to be very complex. At Least, this is what we generally “think”. The mind does what it does without any need for conscious intervention; despite its supposed complexity. The human consciousness has reached a level of awakened acknowledgment. This ancient knowledge has always been there. However, it usually remains buried in the content detail fragments of our existence. A shift is from mind to conscious awareness is necessary.

Dominoes

The process of thinking can be compared to the game of falling dominoes. An initial thought is sudden there. Why it is there and where it came from are irrelevant. However, let us ask the obvious. What happens to a thought when it suddenly appears? Likewise, how do you interact with this thought? A person’s first reaction might be to say that the answer for this question is very complex. Therefore my question is…why do we insist on complexity instead of simplicity? Continue reading

Desire to Love

I have completed my third book manuscript a few months ago. However, I have decided to wait just a little longer before starting the editing work and publication. This decision was based on several factors, including financial and the desire to revise the first draft. Nevertheless, it should be ready for publishing later this year.

desire

The book takes consciousness and our desire to love into consideration. Love and our relationship with it, us and others is the main topic within the pages. There are also many poems about life and love throughout the book that I have written. These correlate with the topics discussed in each chapter.

Consciousness flows where life grows: love is the seed that lets it blossom!
