Lights, Camera, Action: You Are the Star

Have you ever wished to be an actor? Many people dream about it. A few aspire to make it happen. But, the preparation is tedious. A person attends a school of arts, drama classes etc. Then the big day comes. There is a casting audition. But, you have two weeks to memorize a script. The lights start shining on you.

But, to often an actor will lose his or her true identity. They become a reflection of the screenplay that they rehearse. You, as an actor, must read these lines again and again. Eventually, you might become assimilated by the character you are playing. But, your career takes off as a star. The lights seem to shine even brighter on you.

Still, you become confused by the many roles you must play. Deep within you sense a spark of truth. This is the essence of your being. It wishes to shine. But, the script says you must be someone else. The conditioned mind is our director.

Lights Shining on You

Would you really like to be an actor? Well, you have probably been acting since childhood without realizing it. The screenplay you have memorized is a product of a conditioned mind. It is the mind that creates the drama within human existence.  William Shakespeare offers beneficial insight relating to our state of unconscious existence.

“When we are born, we cry, that we are come to this great stage of fools.” – William Shakespeare, King Lear

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.” – William Shakespeare

Therefore, we dream and wish for the lights of stardom. Thus, we continue to read the minds screenplay. The minds bright illusions of life blind us. Hence, we have become moths flying into the light. But, our wings have become scarred. We come and go without realizing the beauty of our being. We have forgotten that life expresses itself through us.

Wishing you fulfilling experiences throughout the holidays and always!
