Sexuality and Spirituality. Did your eyebrow rise as you read the title of this article? Well, firstly please remember that spiritual energy is a specific term in reference to universal energy. On the other hand, we associate sex with lust, passion, obsession and greed. Primarily, sexuality originates as a natural biological function. Thus, sex is a factor of our existence with the potential to either enslave or liberate us. Sexual behavior is a process of instinctive reproduction behavior. But the mind influences these behavior patterns, as is basically true for all aspects of our behavior. Nevertheless, the practice of conscious aware presence obviously also applies to sexual interactions. Therefore, your state of presence decides how you perceive and respond to sex. You might think that this is not significant because sex is sex.

But sexuality manifests either from a state of mind or from a state of spiritual life energy. Universal energy is a constant presence as we experience the beingness of our person. Equally, the minds influence during sex is similar to all other behavior pattern aspects during our life. That is fine but please remain aware of the mind activities and its influence on you. Conscious presence without mind interference offers an experience of enlightenment in daily life. Naturally also during sex. Still, it is difficult for the mind to grasp that sex and spirituality go hand and hand.
Sexuality and Spiritual Blissfulness
Mind behavior should not be something that we oppose or consider a problem. Yes, its conditional and will control behavior patterns until awareness of conscious presence becomes paramount during our life experience. Most people continually shift from mind manipulating behavior to a presence in conscious awareness. But the majority of people quickly slip back into a state of mind conditioning behavior. And, yes, the mind dominates when a person does not practice aware presence. Nevertheless, many people experience a moment of total unification with another person during sex. There is a feeling of blissfulness as you unconditionally and consciously drift within the flow of universal energy.
The interaction with someone during sex should not be about expectations, wants or demands. People that have had great sex will validate what I have just written. Furthermore, it is never truly about the physical intercourse, at least not in direct reference to spiritually (consciously) living. Equally, you discover blissfulness simply by unconditionally letting go during the physical and spiritual unification. It is about giving, receiving and allowing the presence of conscious aware beingness to intensify. And, this daily practice of aware presence is the portal that also gives you peace and bliss in other experiences. This is true regardless of how the mind wants to label any given thought, emotion or situation. Ultimately, how you live manifests according to how you choose to experience the presence of your being.
