The Yellow Brick Road Is a Journey of Illusions

Most people know the story of The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy begins an incredible journey to find her way back home. This path in her life was on yellow brick road of enchantment. Doesn’t this sound familiar? The journey symbolizes a personal and collective conditioning that insists everyone has a path to follow. We have probably all said or heard the following sentences. I need to find my path in life. When speaking about others we say. They still have not found their path in life.

Furthermore, it is also typical to speak with our children about finding their way in life. Thus, we dictate to our children. Here is an example. You are still lost. You have not yet found your path in life. But, the ramifications of this statement often have a profound and damaging effect on our children. Nevertheless, parents constantly evaluate and criticize their children and the very behavior that they taught them.

Live Consciously on your Yellow Brick Road

And, parents almost always use their own experiences as a basis in evaluating their children. Most people want their children to follow the same path, have the same beliefs and behavior. Individuals persuade children to mimic their existentialist illusions. Thus, and ongoing, people confuse conscious enlightenment with the complexities of our existence. People conditionally think that their individual yellow brick road eventually offers fulfillment. But, an actual transformation from mind to conscious presence is the acceptance of already being home without the need for a journey.

But, parents usually wish for a child to behave in a manner that conforms to the parent’s version of a yellow brick road. Conditional patterns of behavior cause people to base living on mind details, egoism and a need to find fulfillment. Thus, parents do not usually allow children to simply experience life first-hand. Behavioral conditioning are the result of dogmatic teachings and unaware presence.

This behavior, among others, is typical of our species evolutionary development and of the mind. And, most people remain obvious to the mind’s dominance in their life experiences. The result is an existence of uncertainty and frustration. Therefore, long-term active presence and simply being are unfathomable for most people. Everyone searches for a designated path. But, this is not a journey of truth because most people unconsciously live life as they walk this pathway. On the other hand, conscious living is the experience of aware presence and the isness of being. What is, is, now and only now.yellow
