Wake up and acknowledge that everything corresponding to how you live life comes from within you. I don’t want to continue this article with many spirituality references, although there will be a few. It has taken me many years to recognize and accept that I am molding my experiences, either consciously or unconsciously. I am the teacher that has the potential to wisely learn and teach myself. This is also true for you. And, please do not fool yourself by listening to the mind tell you otherwise.
Things always happen! Think of your childhood. Perhaps, you had an opportunity to watch water start to boil in a pot when your mother made a meal. There was a slight noise due to the raising water temperature. Then steam appeared. Wow, as a child, you thought this was fascinating. Then the first few air bubbles took shape on the bottom of the pot. The heating water captivated your eyes. Suddenly, these bubbles floated slowly to the water surface. Consequently, more appeared. Correspondingly, and abruptly, the water erupted in movement caused by the ever increasing evaporation. It was a delight for you to watch this happen as a child. But, why doesn’t boiling water fascinate you now?
Let the Teacher Once Again Teach
What has changed? Now, years later, you put a pot of water on the stove to cook. More likely than not, you don’t acknowledge the boiling process. Let’s look at this process from a scientific viewpoint. “In liquid water, hydrogen bonds are constantly being formed and broken as the water molecules slide past each other. The breaking of these bonds is caused by the energy of motion (kinetic energy) of the water molecules due to the heat.” (https://www.khanacademy.org) Actually, in itself, this is fascinating. However, today, as an older person, you disregard the evaporation/condensation phenomenon. Furthermore, it is likely that you are only interested in the water boiling faster. Your only interest is eating so that you can move on to the next distraction. I use this expression to indicate that the mind preoccupies everyone’s experience of presence with unnecessary and insignificant details.
The simple irony of how you live is due to how you choice to observe how you live. And, no, I don’t make this statement to confuse you. But, everything you experience is as it is in that moment. This is accurate whether it is a thought, emotion or situation. Nothing you think, feel or do is going to change what has already manifested as the isness of now. Nevertheless, your aware and unbiased observation of anything allows the teacher to consciously thrive. This in turn, provides you with unrestricted freedom to nurture the manifestation of further experiences. Thus, the universal teacher within you awakens to the power of aware observation. Therefore, you teach yourself a behavior pattern that nourishes the act of living without inhibiting the flow of life.
